India and Iraq held a second round of foreign ministry consultations in Baghdad on Monday. The Indian delegation was headed by Secretary (CPV and OIA) Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, while the Iraqi delegation was headed by Dr. Hisham Al Alawi, Undersecretary for Political Planning Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Secretary (CPV&OIA) met Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister, Oil Minister Haiyan Abdul Ghani, Trade Minister Attil Daoud Salman, National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araj and Sunni Aqaf Board Chairman Dr. Meshane Hijraj, discussing bilateral, regional and international mutual interest. Discuss international issues.

The two sides comprehensively reviewed the status quo of bilateral relations in various fields such as traditional friendly relations, politics, economy, national defense, security, trade and investment, development partnerships, scholarship programs, cultural relations and people-to-people relations. “Great to attend Flag of Convenience with Baghdad, first meeting since 2015,” Saeed tweeted.
