New Delhi [India]India, as the current chairman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), is scheduled to host a meeting of National Security Advisors (NSA) and senior officials in New Delhi on Wednesday, March 29.

Pakistan and China may attend SCO-NSB meeting virtually.

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will open the meeting.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an intergovernmental organization established in 2001, consisting of eight member states: India, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

In 2022, India will hold the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2023.

Russian embassy officials confirmed to ANI that Nikolai Patrushev, secretary of Russia’s Federal Security Council, will attend the annual meeting of secretaries of the security committees of the SCO member states in New Delhi on Wednesday.

India became a full member of the SCO on June 9, 2017. There are four observer states, namely Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia, and six dialogue partners – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Turkey.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a major regional power established more than two decades ago to facilitate economic, political and military cooperation among its member states. The eight SCO member states account for about 42% of the world’s total population and 25% of global GDP.

Earlier this month, Pakistan also attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) tourism bureau chief meeting in Kashgar.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Yerginbayev, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China Lu Yingchuan, Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Samat Bekturovich Saud Manov and First Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan Azamov Ulugbek Aksmatovich attended the meeting of heads of tourism authorities of the SCO held in Kashgar.

Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Vladimir Evgenyvich Ilyichev, Chairman of Tajikistan Tourism Development Committee Muminzod Kamoliddin, and Pakistani Prime Minister Tourism and Sports Advisor Aun Chaudhry participated in the SCO meeting virtually. in Kashgar earlier this month, according to a press release from the Ministry of Tourism.

While the SCO summit is scheduled to take place in Goa this summer, India is hosting a flurry of events. It is worth noting that the next major SCO meeting will be the defense ministers meeting scheduled for April 27-29 in Delhi. (Arnie)
