MEXICO CITY, April 18 (AP) — The Mexican navy said Monday it is using ships and aircraft to search for three Americans who went missing with their sailboat off Mexico’s North Pacific coast.

The Navy said it was searching the area with four patrol boats and a twin-engine propeller plane, but apparently no signs of missing persons had been found.

Three Americans boarded the 44-foot (13.5-meter) sailboat “Ocean Bound.” The US Coast Guard named them Kerry O’Brien, Frank O’Brien and William Gross.

They have not been heard from since April 4 near the Mexican Pacific port of Mazatlan. The trio had planned to stop in the Baja resort town of Cabo San Lucas to buy supplies before heading to San Diego.
