ABUJA (Nigeria), March 1 (AP) – Election officials declared ruling party candidate Bola Tinubu the winner of Nigeria’s presidential election, two leading opposition candidates who had called for a vote in this African population earlier Wednesday. The most countries re-vote.

The overnight announcement could lead to court challenges from his main opponents, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. Abubakar also finished second in the final 2019 ballot and then appealed those results before his lawsuit was ultimately dismissed.
