Islamabad [Pakistan], January 13 (ANI): An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded at a private clinic at Lunda Sharif bus station in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday night. No casualties were reported, but the clinic was destroyed and nearby shops were partially damaged in the improvised explosive device blast, Dawn newspaper quoted police as saying on Thursday.

A large number of police and bomb squads arrived at the scene immediately, the official said. Preliminary investigations by the bomb squad revealed that it was an improvised explosive device explosion.

Unidentified persons planted an explosive device outside the private clinic of Dr. Rehmatullah Baloch in Lunda Sharif Adda, which exploded on Wednesday night, a police official said. According to the Dawn newspaper, the clinic was destroyed and nearby shops were partially damaged, according to a police official.

Terrorists carried out gunfire and “missile” attacks on a police station in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province early on Sunday, Dawn reported, adding that the attack included No casualties were reported.

The police station was partially damaged, according to a police spokesman. He further claimed that, according to news reports, this was the first gun and missile attack on Dera Ismail Khan police station. The attack comes amid an increase in terrorist attacks across Pakistan.
