Khyber Pakhtunkhwa [Pakistan]Jan 18 (ANI): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Tuesday sent a letter to Governor Haji Ghulam Ali on the dissolution of the Summary of Provincial Council.

CM Mahmood said the decision to dissolve Parliament was for the wider interests of Pakistan.

In a video statement, KP CM said: “I promised Imran Khan that I would sign the summary of the dissolution of the provincial council by 10pm and I did.”

He added, “We have done everything we can for our people. Now, Parliament will be dissolved and elections will be held in 90 days.”

He added that PTI would return to power with a two-thirds majority, not only in the province but nationwide, Geo News reported.

The PTI chairman announced the dissolution of the assembly in November last year – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. However, the plans were delayed due to consultations with the Allies and countermeasures by the central ruling Allies.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Tuesday finally accepted the resignation of 35 members of the lower house – 34 of whom belonged to the Pakistan Justice Movement (PTI) led by Imran Khan – as well as the People’s Liberation Army, hours after the KP parliament was dissolved. Sheikh Rashid, chairman of the Muslim League (AML), according to Geo News.

The resignations of MPs including Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, Pervez Khattak, Ali Amin Gandapur, Murad Saeed, Shehryar Khan Afridi and Imran Khattak have been accepted. (Arnie)
