Business Brecorder recently reported that street crime has increased in Pakistan, especially in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, amid the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee.

The increase in street crime is a symptom of deeper unease in Pakistani society, stemming from growing inequality, poverty and unemployment.

In Pakistan some gangs are becoming unrivaled. Karachi, the country’s largest urban center, for example, has seen some statistics show that street crime has dropped from its peak a few years ago. But it still exists. (Arnie)
