EVERMAN (United States) April 7 (AP) — The mother of a 6-year-old Texas boy who is believed to be dead has used various stories to explain why he has been missing since last fall, police said Thursday.

Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez was last seen when his mother gave birth to twin girls in October, Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer said at a news conference.

He said the search for the boy’s body was focused near his home in Everman, south of Fort Worth.

During Noel’s last appearance, he was described as “looking unhealthy and malnourished,” Spencer said.

Arrests were issued on March 31 against the boy’s mother, Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, and her husband, Arshdeep Singh, on charges of abandonment and child endangerment make.

They are believed to have flown to India with their six children on March 22. Two days earlier, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services asked police to conduct a welfare check on the children in the couple’s home.
