LONDON, March 14 (AP) – British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his family spoke to an officer after their dogs were released from the leash in London’s Hyde Park, British police said Tuesday.

Earlier, a video was shared on TikTok that appeared to show the prime minister and his family allowing Nova, their labrador, to roam freely in areas where dogs are required to be kept on a leash.

It is unclear when the video was taken.

“We are aware of a video showing a dog being taken on a leash in Hyde Park,” the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. “An officer who was present at the time spoke to a woman and reminded her to follow the rules. The dog was led again.”

Police said they would take no further action.

During his political career, Sunak has run afoul of the law twice. In January, he was fined by police for taking a social media video with his seat belt off in a moving car.

Last year, when he was finance minister, he was fined £50 for breaching pandemic lockdown rules by briefly attending a party inside a government office. He was one of dozens of officials, including then prime minister Boris Johnson, fined over the Partygate scandal. (Associated Press)
