World’s Smartest Cities: London Tops Global Ranking, Dubai Comes Second
London has been named the world’s smartest city in the World’s Smartest Cities ranking released by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), while Dubai secured second place. The study assessed 61 cities across 39 countries based on their use of artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and smart public services.
Dubai finished ahead of major global cities such as New York, Washington, D.C. and Amsterdam. The report also gave Dubai the highest score for AI adoption, reflecting the city’s rapid progress in using technology to improve everyday life.
The latest world’s smartest cities ranking highlights Dubai’s continued investment in digital transformation. Residents already use AI-powered services for government transactions, transport, healthcare and public safety, making many daily tasks faster and more efficient.
London claimed the top position because of its strong technology ecosystem, advanced digital infrastructure, leading universities and widespread use of AI across businesses and public services.
