Yale Entertainment Hires Ex-Sony Exec as Production Head – Deadline


exclusive: Yale Entertainment Producer Nick Phillips has been hired as head of production.

As part of this role, Phillips will work closely with Yale Presidents Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckman, as well as the Yale production and operations team, to manage and oversee the company’s upcoming films.

Phillips will be responsible for the entire production process, from identifying potential projects, budgeting, scheduling, crew hiring, managing principal photography, to directing the film’s post-production and distribution.Upcoming projects at Yale include David Duchovny’s Bucky F-ing Dent and the recently announced breitenbushStarring Regina Hall.

Phillips began his career at Miramax/Dimension Films in New York City in 1997 as a receptionist, followed by a stint as an assistant in the Commerce Department before becoming an executive in 2000.During his time at Dimension, Phillips worked on several franchises, including Scream, Halloween, Hellscream, Doctor Strange, Werewolf Night, Highlander, and crow. He also appeared in season 3 of the project green light. He was promoted to corporate vice president of development and production.

In 2005, Phillips joined Sony Pictures Entertainment as Senior Vice President of Development and Production, and from 2012 to 2017, Phillips served as Executive Vice President of independent record label Revolver Picture Company. Most recently, he was Head of Production at startup studio/streaming platform CreatorPlus.
