Prince Harry’s ‘backup’ ghostwriter JR Moehringer reveals some of the biggest bombshells that came out of the writing process. It included a 2am phone call, emotional disclosures and a heated debate with the Duke of Sussex. JR Moehringer also recalled a meeting with the royal inner circle, his “strange” meeting with Prince Harry and a gracious gesture from Meghan Markle, who claims his name was leaked ahead of the book’s release date Followed and harassed.

JR Moehringer said that once he was on a Zoom call with Prince Harry at 2am, they got into a heated argument while reviewing the duke’s latest edit.
“My head was banging and my jaw was clenched and I started to raise my voice. However, some part of me was still able to step out of the situation and think, which was so weird. I was yelling at Prince Harry. Then, As Harry started looking back at me, his cheeks flushed, his eyes narrowed, a more urgent thought came, ‘Wow, this could all end here,'” JR Moehringer said.
JR Moehringer said Harry had tears in his eyes after the book was published. Prince Harry thanked his publishing team and editor, ghostwriter, saying: “He referred to my advice, ‘Trust the book’, and said he was glad he did because the truth came out unbelievable, it felt – His voice changed – ‘Freedom’.

“His eyes had tears. Mine did too,” he said.
