YG Entertainment has announced the final lineup of upcoming girl group BABYMONSTER.
It was revealed through a video hosted by YG Entertainment The founder Yang Hyun-suk decides the trainees one by one.
The original final lineup consisted of Ahyeon, Ruka, Chiquita, Haram, and Pharita. YG Entertainment initially planned to debut with only five members, but after receiving feedback from fans, they decided to include all seven trainees.
Yang Hyun-suk explained his decision to leave Rora and Asa out of the lineup, saying he wanted Rora to debut with YG’s next girl group, while Asa was considering joining a girl group project in Japan.
However, he emphasized the importance of fan opinions, saying, “‘YG Family’ is not just a gathering of YG entertainers, because I believe that YG fans and all those who watch these programs seriously are the real YG Family.”
He then replaced the original poster board showing the 5 members with one featuring all 7 trainees and announced the group’s new name BABYMONSTER.

BABYMONSTER will be YG Entertainment’s first girl group Since BLACKPINK debuted in 2016.
The final lineup was announced after the group’s web show “Final Evaluation,” in which the members accepted YG Entertainment’s challenge to choose their debutant.
The company hasn’t announced an official debut date for the duo, but it’s expected to be sometime in the fall.
