Wollongong your owl day Returning in 2023 with a new home: the University of Wollongong. Festival founders Ben Tillman, Adam Smith and Baluun Jones – all UOW alumni – have signed a three-year partnership with the university to host the event. The first event will take place over the weekend of Saturday, 14th and Sunday, October 15th this year.
As part of the deal, the Yours & Owls team will take over the UOW campus for the festival and use the festival grounds, oval and laneway. “We are delighted to be home to UOW and to present you and Owl on campus,” Tillman said in a statement. “We’re excited to welcome customers to experience the festival in the very place where the original idea was conceived many years ago. Our team has been busy creating ways that we can use the vast amount of space available across campus.”

University of Wollongong Vice-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor Patricia M. Davidson said the University “watched in awe” as the Yours & Owls team “had transformed Wollongong’s cultural and creative landscape over the past decade.” Davidson Continues: “The relationship between Yours and Owls and UOW is a perfect fit for us. This is our opportunity to showcase the beauty of our campus and encourage the community to have fun and enjoy some of the best live music around in a safe and relaxed environment.”
Festival operators hope the permanence of UOW’s infrastructure will ensure punters have a seamless experience as they move around the venue, reduce waste and help the festival and the university meet carbon reduction targets.
The University of Wollongong also offers a range of 24/7 solutions to ensure Yours & Owls are better able to cope with all possible weather conditions.Last year, your owl day was Canceled a few days before the scheduled start, extreme flooding rendered its former Stewart Park site unusable. The festival was last held in 2020.
There’s no official word on the lineup for this year’s edition of Yours & Owls yet, but the website and date announcement video above yes by soundtrack Excelsior”I walk the earth alone’.The Canadian singer-songwriter will be in the country at that time (appearing Part of the inaugural SXSW Sydney) so the outlook looks good.
