Butterfly Avery Hawk verbally commits to Wisconsin
new commit: UW has received a verbal commitment from the national junior qualifier for the 2024-25 season and beyond Avery Hawk Tampa, Florida.
she told Swimming World:
“I’m so excited to announce my commitment to the University of Wisconsin! I want to thank all the coaches, friends and family who made this possible, and the staff at Wisconsin for giving me this opportunity. Go Badgers!”
Hawke swims at Elite Aquatic Club in Tampa, specializing in butterfly. At the NCSA Championships in the spring, she finished 16th in the 50m, 17th in the 200m and 20th in the 100m after finishing 1st in the 200m at the Orlando Division Third place and ninth place in 10m flight.
Some of her best moments include:
- 50 flights – 24.76
- 100 flights – 54.18
- 200 flights – 1:59.52
- 200 IM – 2:07.16
- 500 Free – 5:01.88
Hawke, a rising senior at Robinson High School, finished second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 500 freestyle at the 2022 Florida Double-A State Championships. In her sophomore season, she won silver medals in both the 100-meter fly and the 100-meter chest.
