They also expressed hope that COP28 will achieve outcomes that will help mitigate this global humanitarian threat.

Likewise, they emphasize that planting olive trees is an invitation to promote environmental peace and preserve life on Earth.

They emphasized the need for open discussions among youth, civil society leaders and religious leaders, and for the visions, experiences, initiatives and suggestions of young people to be heard and considered.

Judge Mohammad Abdul Salam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, said he was pleased with the positive spirit shown by the participants of the second Emerging Peacemakers Forum.

He also said that he expected them to play an active role in addressing environmental and social challenges, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness of environmental peace issues and promoting collective action to address global challenges and create a better future for humanity.

Judge Abdul Salam further explained that the world eagerly awaits the UAE hosting COP28 and the significant results that can be achieved in addressing the negative impacts of climate change.

He appreciated the UAE’s efforts in promoting environmental security and finding effective solutions to climate change.

Professor Jerry Pillay, Secretary General of the World Council of Churches, commented: “The olive tree is often associated with peace. It is fitting that such a tree be planted at Bosch Ecumenical College to mark this special and important day. “A unique gathering of emerging peacemakers. It is especially noteworthy that this gathering was made up of different religions. When we all show commitment in a world full of violence, factions, conflicts and wars. “

The second edition of the Emerging Peacemakers Forum, which opened in Geneva on Thursday, aims to develop a generation of young people who can make positive contributions to their communities and build a better future for themselves and humanity. (ANI/WAM)
