Saudi disputes ‘misleading’ report on Ethiopian migrant deaths

Saudi Arabia has criticized a report alleging that its border guards have killed hundreds of Ethiopian migrants in the past year, dismissing it as “politicized and misleading.”

Human Rights Watch had recently claimed that Saudi border guards had used excessive force against Ethiopian migrants attempting to enter the country from Yemen.

The Saudi government refuted these allegations as “unfounded and not based on reliable sources.”

In response to ongoing media campaigns with potentially ulterior motives, Saudi Arabia reiterated its commitment to human rights principles and noted its provision of medical care to those injured by armed groups during forced entry attempts.
