Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), has introduced ‘The Climate Tribe,’ a UAE-based social enterprise dedicated to inspiring climate action through dynamic storytelling, immersive community engagement, and radical collaboration.
The Climate Tribe bridges local and global perspectives by highlighting the journeys and achievements of changemakers, innovators, and philanthropists worldwide, galvanizing UAE communities while showcasing sustainable practices, ecological heritage, and natural wonders of the Middle East.
Comprising three main components, The Climate Tribe includes an integrated multimedia platform covering 14 key themes, complemented by large-scale events and workshops to engage society in building conscious living habits. A final element will be introduced in early 2024.
Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan stated, “Our ambition with The Climate Tribe is to create a space where these impactful journeys are shared authentically, inspiring others to follow suit.”
The Climate Tribe was unveiled to industry leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and climate advocates at an event co-hosted by DP World in New York City, coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week NYC 2023. Simultaneously, a supper club was held in Abu Dhabi at Manarat Al Saadiyat to further highlight the initiative’s goals and facilitate discussions on environmental action.
As part of its immersive collective engagement approach, The Climate Tribe initiated an interactive Eco-Living Workshop Series on September 25, starting with a sustainable planting workshop to empower individuals and communities.
The launch of The Climate Tribe signifies a significant advancement in the global fight against climate change, focusing on storytelling and community impact to drive a more sustainable future.
