India: 3.1 magnitude quake hits Delhi-NCR

India’s National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported a 3.1 magnitude earthquake in the Delhi-NCR region on Sunday. The tremors occurred at 4:08 pm and were located 9km east of Faridabad, Haryana, at a depth of 10 km.

It marked the second instance of seismic activity in the national capital within a fortnight, with the previous occurrence on October 3 attributed to two earthquakes in Nepal, measuring 4.6 and 6.2 on the Richter Scale.

NCS serves as the government’s primary agency for monitoring earthquake events in India.
