Dubai Free Parking for 3 Days During Eid Al Fitr 2026: RTA Announces Holiday Timings
Dubai, UAE — Dubai motorists will enjoy free public parking for three days during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday, after the city’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced a temporary suspension of parking fees across most public parking zones. The move is part of the emirate’s annual initiatives to make travel easier for residents and visitors during the festive period.
According to the RTA announcement, all public parking spaces in Dubai will be free of charge from the first day of Eid Al Fitr until the end of the third day of the holiday. However, the exemption will not apply to multi-storey parking facilities, where regular parking charges will continue to be enforced throughout the period.
The authority clarified that normal parking tariffs will resume on the fourth day of Eid. Residents and visitors using paid parking areas across the city are therefore advised to check the holiday dates carefully to avoid confusion once the regular fee system returns.
Eid Al Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and is one of the most important Islamic festivals. During the holiday, Dubai typically experiences a significant increase in travel as residents visit relatives, attend prayers, shop, and take part in social gatherings and entertainment events across the emirate. By waiving public parking fees during this time, authorities aim to reduce congestion and make it easier for people to move around the city.
Along with free parking, the RTA also announced revised operating schedules for several public transport services during the Eid holiday. These adjustments include updated timings for the Dubai Metro, tram services, buses, and marine transport. The changes are intended to accommodate the higher passenger demand expected during the festive period.
In addition to transport services, some RTA facilities will operate on modified schedules during the holiday. Vehicle testing centres across Dubai will remain closed for the first three days of Eid and are expected to resume operations on the fourth day of Shawwal. Customer Happiness Centres will also close during the same period, although certain Smart Customer Happiness Centres will continue operating round-the-clock to assist residents.
Authorities regularly introduce such measures during major public holidays to ensure smoother mobility across the city. Free parking initiatives during Eid and other celebrations have become common in Dubai, offering motorists temporary relief from parking fees while encouraging residents to enjoy the festivities without worrying about parking costs.
Dubai typically experiences increased footfall in shopping malls, public parks, waterfront areas, and tourist attractions during Eid. With families and visitors moving across different parts of the city for celebrations and leisure activities, the demand for parking spaces rises considerably. The RTA’s initiative aims to manage this surge by allowing motorists to park freely in most public areas for three days.
Residents are also encouraged to use public transport whenever possible, as Dubai’s metro, tram, and bus networks provide convenient connections to many popular destinations across the emirate. Transport authorities usually extend service hours during major holidays to accommodate late-night travel and ensure accessibility.
