UAE Oil Exports Hit Record High After OPEC Exit as ADNOC Boosts Shipments

UAE Oil Exports Hit Record High After OPEC Exit

In June, UAE oil exports were at the all-time high, which came shortly after the country formally left OPEC.

Ship tracking showed that oil and condensates exports stood at about 3.7 million barrels per day, exceeding the previous maximum of 3.44 million barrels per day in April 2020.

This surge in exports was largely due to increased loadings from ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) and improved Gulf shipping lanes.

Exports of Abu Dhabi crude stood at almost 4 million barrels per day, with cargoes destined primarily for Asia, but European, Turkish and African buyers have been purchasing more recently. ADNOC has also been offering additional oil in several sale tenders.

The UAE withdrew from OPEC on May 1, 2026, citing a desire for greater flexibility to boost production and realize the potential of its oil reserves. According to analysts, oil production in the country is likely to grow in the coming year.
