ADNOC LNG Trading Platform Launched to Boost UAE’s Global Energy Leadership

ABU DHABI, July 6: The ADNOC LNG trading platform has officially been launched in Abu Dhabi, marking a major milestone in the UAE’s strategy to strengthen its position in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market.

The new platform brings together the LNG marketing operations of ADNOC Gas and XRG with the trading expertise of ADNOC Trading under one integrated commercial organization.

The initiative is expected to improve the company’s global reach, increase operational efficiency and help meet rising international demand for cleaner energy.

ADNOC LNG Trading Platform to Expand Global Reach

The ADNOC LNG trading platform is headquartered at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the emirate’s international financial centre.

By combining marketing, trading and shipping operations into a single commercial hub, ADNOC aims to make its LNG business more efficient and responsive to customers across international markets.

The company said the new structure will simplify commercial operations while strengthening relationships with buyers and trading partners worldwide.

ADNOC is targeting a marketable LNG portfolio of 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) by 2035, positioning the UAE among the world’s leading LNG exporters.

Strengthening Abu Dhabi’s Position

The ADNOC LNG trading platform is expected to reinforce Abu Dhabi’s growing role as a global energy trading hub.

The integrated platform will allow the company to manage LNG sales, shipping and trading activities more effectively from a single location.

It also supports ADNOC’s wider strategy of expanding its international energy business and supplying reliable LNG to customers across Asia, Europe and other key markets.

Growing Demand for LNG

Global demand for liquefied natural gas continues to rise as many countries look for lower-emission alternatives to coal and oil.

Industry analysts believe the launch of the ADNOC LNG trading platform will help the UAE capitalise on this growing demand while strengthening its competitiveness in the international LNG market.

The move also aligns with the UAE’s long-term plans to diversify its economy and expand its energy exports beyond crude oil.
