UAE Weather Today: Mercury Climbs To 48°C With Rain Possible In The East
UAE weather today is turning up the heat, with the National Centre of Meteorology forecasting highs as high as 48°C in some inland areas. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are expected to see temperatures reach 46°C, while Sharjah could touch 47°C, making it one of the hottest stretches of the summer so far.
Despite the soaring mercury, the NCM says skies will stay mostly fair to partly cloudy across the country. There is a chance of convective clouds developing over the eastern and western regions during the afternoon, which could bring brief showers to some inland areas, with Al Ain and nearby mountain regions most likely to see any rainfall.
Winds are expected to stay light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast at 10 to 25 km/h, though gusts could pick up to 40 km/h in some spots. Sea conditions will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, so beachgoers should not expect rough waves.
With night-time lows only dropping to around 30°C to 33°C, there is little relief even after sunset. The NCM has advised residents to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during peak afternoon hours, and keep an eye on updated bulletins in case conditions shift quickly.
