Colombia’s Business Matchmaking Forum will explore untapped opportunities at Expo 2020 – Dubai Blog

Colombia is organizing its largest business matching event to support the goals of Expo 2020, which are to promote partnerships, promote innovation, and discover strong business and trade investment opportunities.

The Matchmaking Forum hosted by ProColombia is an ideal gateway to investment possibilities in various fields. It will be held at the Dubai Exhibition Center World Expo from November 7 to 11, 2021, as part of the Expo 2020 activities. About 3,400 business meetings will be held by 200 Colombian business representatives and 125 buyers from 20 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, the purpose of which is to showcase Colombian products and services and cultivate global companies.

The five-day event is one of ProColombia’s main business initiatives. ProColombia is the government agency responsible for promoting Colombia’s non-traditional exports, international tourism, and foreign investment. It aims to pave the way for companies and investors to explore business partnerships in agribusiness, manufacturing, industry 4.0, clothing and chemical supply chains. Companies from different industries will have representatives in agribusiness’s oil, beverage, meat and other industries; building materials, household goods, design, etc. in the manufacturing industry; software, IT services, etc. in Industry 4.0; clothing and personal care Products such as clothing and footwear, and drugs in the chemical supply chain industry.

Santoro further added: “The Dubai World Expo will be an excellent opportunity to showcase Colombia’s various high-quality goods and services from various fields. Our goal is to double the sales volume generated through the Americas Macro Docking Forum last year. In order to make Colombian companies as successful as possible, we organized webinars to prepare for these business meetings.”

The forum also seeks to focus discussions on logistics between Colombia and the UAE, potential buyers and exporters, and packaging and product development. It will also further study the potential and trends of the UAE’s e-commerce sector. The Dubai World Expo will become the promoter and accelerator of the Colombia-United Arab Emirates Vision 2030, thanks to more than 60 actions, including promotional activities, business agendas and events, with the participation of more than 200 public and private entities.

With the participation of trade allies in many industries and major organizations, the Colombian national government strives to achieve the goal of increasing non-mining energy (NME) exports to 32 million U.S. dollars by 2022, thereby supporting the goal of 130 million U.S. dollars by 2030.

It is estimated that by 2022, NME’s export growth will reach 32 million U.S. dollars, and by 2030, it will quickly achieve the goal of 130 million U.S. dollars. The establishment of new direct flights or codeshares with airlines in the region to improve connectivity is also expected to help increase the number of tourists. In addition, Colombia is one of the world’s top coffee producing countries. Due to the growing demand for coffee supply in the Middle East and North Africa, this event may enhance the country’s position in the regional market.

Expo 2020 is the ideal platform for Colombia to further increase foreign direct investment through a combination of opportunities in the fields of infrastructure, technology, agribusiness, energy and creative enterprises.
