Dubai Longevity Strategy: How the Emirate Plans to Become a Global Wellness Hub

Dubai is taking a major step into the global wellness and healthy-longevity sector with its new Dubai Longevity Strategy. The strategy aims to contribute more than Dh35 billion to the emirate’s economy over the next decade while supporting annual sector growth of around 31%.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the Dubai Longevity Authority’s strategy on September 27. The authority was established earlier this year to develop Dubai as a global centre for healthy longevity, wellness and advanced healthcare.

The strategy covers more than traditional wellness services. It includes research and development, clinical trials, advanced healthcare, manufacturing, patient clinics and new longevity-related technologies.

Dubai also plans to attract international companies, specialised professionals and investment into the growing sector. The authority will develop regulatory frameworks for longevity therapies and innovations, providing rules for businesses working across the industry.

For residents and visitors, the strategy could expand Dubai’s wellness offering through new healthcare services, preventive care, medical innovation and specialised longevity programmes.

The emirate is also building an ecosystem around advanced medicine. In November, Dubai is scheduled to host Next Generation Medicine 2026, bringing healthcare professionals, scientists, biotech companies and investors together to discuss longevity and regenerative medicine.

The new strategy connects healthcare with Dubai’s wider economic and quality-of-life goals. As investment and research increase, longevity is expected to become an increasingly important part of the emirate’s wellness, healthcare and tourism landscape.
