Dubai’s Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (IACAD) on Tuesday announced fixed prices for Adahi or sacrificial animals in Dubai and abroad.

With just a week to go before the Eid al-Adha holiday, the price of sacrificed animals for Eid al-Adha in the emirate has been set at Dh600, compared to Dh350 for sacrifices abroad this year.

These prices are for those who wish to contribute to IACAD’s sacrificial project within the UAE and the project will be donated outside the UAE to those in need in different countries.

Donors may contact charities registered under IACAD and make donations at the above rates. These prices do not apply to ordinary residents purchasing sacrificial animals for themselves and their families.

The prices were announced following an online meeting with suppliers and charitable associations it oversees.

IACAD Director of Charities Department Mohammed Musabah Dhahi moderated an online session with charities from Beit Al Khair Association, Dar Al Bar Association, Dubai Charity Association and Issa Saleh Al Gurg Charity Foundation.

Dhahi noted that the Sacrifice Project works with philanthropists every year through its authorized charities, under the supervision of IACAD, to provide cash for their Adahi, which is then distributed to those in need.
