Shameer Omer – Presenting The Ultimate Revolution for Job Seekers

Finding a job is getting tougher nowadays as people don’t get access to the right platform. That’s why there originated a website in UAE named bathool.com. We interviewed Shameer Omer, the Founder & CEO of bathool.com, to get a better understanding of him and his platform.

bathool.com is a leading job portal in UAE that aims to help individuals look for jobs easily and send their profiles to employers without hassle. It has a smoother and seamless process. The platform also has social media presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

With extensive experience in the HR field, Shameer Omer grew exponentially, and his journey has been impressive. Initially, he thought about helping job seekers in UAE, so he decided to start bathool.com. Later on, it became an even bigger project.

Explain the background of you and the company in detail.

I had a great journey in my career from a soft skills trainer to a Group HR Manager for a Group of Companies (Royal Horizon Holding) that is a subsidiary of a Public Listed Company (IHC) at the age of 30. Now, being the CEO of bathool.com, a leading website in UAE that offers candidates faster solutions to reach potential employers in the UAE in the location and industries candidates wish to apply for. They can send profiles of candidates in a well-structured way. We have around 20,000 companies/recruiters enrolled during the last 8 months on our website to receive candidate profiles, which is increasing by 100 companies on a daily basis now.

What are your goals?

To launch our website and service in GCC within the next 6 months, candidates from around GCC have been waiting for us to introduce the service in the region.

What do you feel is the biggest strength of yourself/company right now?

The team. We have 26 employees at the operations now working from around the globe. The team has been doing a wonderful job creating strong data collection for potential companies and operations. Programmers at various levels have contributed to making our website a success.

What was the path you/your company took to get to where you are today?

Despite being a Group HR Manager, I could not provide jobs to more candidates than I did. The idea I came up with will save time and effort and make the connection between candidates and employers much faster. We developed bathool.com after one year of research and hard work with programmers, and it has already helped many job seekers find their dream jobs.

Why did you start (or want to be the head of) this company?

It was just a decision to support job seekers in the UAE initially, which turned out to be a bigger project later. We never thought that the result would be this big. It has been observed that 95% of candidates get responses more than five times from all other websites, and almost 10% get hired using our service. The actual result must be more than that. We started this project to achieve this result.

What have been the biggest challenges you’ve had to overcome?

The program automated the process of operation. Out of one year, we spent around 4 months developing the core algorithm that made the website fully automated. The programmers and I dropped the project almost 4 times during this development stage, where we felt it was impossible. Every time the next day, after being mentally broken, I would go back to the programmers and boost them, saying, “Let’s try again” they would look at my face with a smile, knowing what to do. We tried and tried many times. Failed many times, and finally, we made it.

Give us one word that describes you the best.

Our well-structured candidate profiles have already saved companies’ time and helped many candidates find jobs after receiving responses from many possible employers without any effort after registering on our website.

What makes you excited about Mondays?

The feeling of satisfaction of many candidates who found the job makes us excited. I always ensure we communicate each milestone to the whole team. In this way, they are able to feel part of the achievement, and we believe we achieved it together.

What do you value most about your culture and vision?

We are passionate about helping candidates and are professional and open in our approach. It is our common goal to support job seekers that defines our culture. All our teammates start their work with a positive attitude towards the job they perform every day. They keep in mind the contribution shall lead to secure jobs for many.

Tell us about a project that forced you to be innovative and creative.

We know that we are in a world of technology, and everyone needs fast, simple and easy-to-use services. From the beginning, we made the website simple with less content, faster to get results and easy to use platform for both candidates and companies.

What are the strategies of your company, and how do they stand unique from your competitors?

Most job sites require time, and the result is pathetic. Let us say a candidate who looks for a job in UAE spends 3 months looking for a job and spends every day a minimum of 10 hours registering at various job sites and applying for positions that companies post. HR teams from companies also spend much time posting jobs and screening CVs from different websites with a cost involved.

At bathool.com, candidates register and do nothing to get responses from companies as we edit their titles and cover letter. We distribute the CVs with important information about the candidates given to employers for easy screening. The service is now free for companies and saves time on screening.

What are the key values which helped you to overcome the roadblocks/challenges in your career? Tell us something about your memorable incident in your leadership.

My journey to Group HR Manager was really difficult for me. Being an Indian to work in such a big company at this age in this role was a big catch. My life taught me many lessons to achieve things with perseverance. A great man once told me, “Shameer, there are no problems, only challenges.” I hope this attitude made me achieve things that I thought impossible.

How do you see the company changing in two years, and how do you see yourself creating that change?

We see the company will grow to be a leading job portal with the latest technology that offers a faster solution to recruitment. The major service is intended for job seekers in finding their dream career.

Where is your leadership going? What benefits do your clients get from your company in this competitive world?

We believe we will rewrite the recruitment strategy in the world soon by offering both employer and candidate easy, time-saving, cost-saving and effective recruitment methods.

What are your company’s services/solutions or products on par with the current industry standards? Tell us something about your upcoming products or services.

We currently offer a CV distribution service that is automated and faster. The service is not just a CV distribution but redefining recruitment with a faster solution.
