Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, part of the Knight Riders Group, revealed on Tuesday the first 14 players who will compete in the inaugural UAE International League T20. The list includes Andre Russell, Sunil Narion, Jonny Bairstow and Paul Sterling, among others. Some other short-form emerging names such as Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka, USA’s Ali Khan and Netherlands’ Brandon Glover were also included in the lineup.
The inaugural UAE T20 League aka International League T20 will start next year. The league allows the six participating teams to pick up to 14 overseas players for their roster as “outright buys” — allowing a maximum of nine to play. The franchise announced its 14 overseas players in a tweet.

Venky Mysore, chief executive of Knight Riders Group, has gone public with the signing and said he is delighted to retain the services of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, who have been an important part of the IPL Kolkata Knights team. “First of all, it is great to see our global footprint continue to grow in line with our vision and strategy. “It’s also fantastic that we have our mainstays – Sunil Narine and Andre Russell as part of ADKR. We’re really excited to have Jonny Bairstow joining the Knight Riders family and will no doubt play an important role in ADKR’s journey through ILT20. We are also delighted that Akeal Hosein, Ravi Rampaul, Ali Khan, Colin Ingram and Seekuge Prasanna, who previously joined TKR, are also joining ADKR.”
“It’s a huge welcome to Paul Stirling, Charith Ašalanka, Kennar Lewis, Lahiru Kumara, Raymon Reifer and Brandon Glover to the Knight Riders family. ILT20 promises to be an exciting tournament and we are looking forward to a very competitive game and plenty of entertainment “
