Lebanese restaurants are known for their open kitchens and expansive indoor play areas.
For children: The restaurant doubles as a soft play area, with kid-friendly staff supervising the little ones. There is a ball pit, trampoline, climbing frames and slides and an abundance of climbing frames, complete with galaxy themed wallpapers.
On the menu: Stouff offers Lebanese-Mediterranean cuisine with most meats and vegetables cooked over an open fire, serving steak tartare with dukkah spices, pasta roll with tzatziki, moussaka bruschetta, eggplant makdous and shawarma .

Sanderson Cafe
Sanderson’s is the Serg-half business of Tom and Serg, the chefs behind Common Grounds and The Sum of Us. Spanish entrepreneur Sergio Lopez opened the spacious cafe alone in 2018.
For children: In the cooler months, seating on the patio makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids in the outdoor play area, which has slides, swings, trampolines, climbing frames and two sizes of climbing frames.

For children: Keep the kids busy drawing plates and bottles, which can be displayed on a dedicated wall. Older kids can find inspiration by visiting the gallery’s latest exhibition.
On the menu: The café offers breakfast options such as avocado and mushroom toast, acai bowls, a variety of eggs and salmon or turkey bagels. The eclectic main menu has everything from brisket and oxtail curries to chicken wings and risotto.

black cafe
This little-known place on Saadiyat Island looks like a Parisian café and is known for its skilled baristas and high-quality ingredients.
For children: The cafe has a small fenced indoor play area with toys, painting materials and small chairs and tables.
On the menu: Le Noir serves a range of specialty drinks, from blackberry and pistachio lattes to dragon fruit smoothies and organic spring hair tea. Entrees include Mediterranean classics such as coq au vin, eggplant parmesan and duck confit, as well as soups, salads, burgers and bar snacks.

For children: While it doesn’t have a dedicated play area (although Nolu’s at Galleria is close to the Caboodle), the cafe has a dedicated kids’ menu stuffed with activities – from crosswords and math puzzles to spotting the difference The place.
