Police also urge motorists to exercise caution
In the early hours of Friday morning, residents of the UAE woke up to a dense fog. The National Weather Service has issued a series of warnings for parts of the country.
Thick fog greatly reduced visibility on the road. Police and authorities have issued warnings to motorists to be careful on the road.
Abu Dhabi Police also urged motorists to obey the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Below is a list of affected areas:
- Abu Dhabi – Sweihan (Al Ain),
- Dubai – Jebel Ali, Dubai International Airport, Al Maktoum International Airport, Emirates Road, Al Warsan, Oud Al Muteena, Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah 1, Al Minhad, Al Khawaneej
- Sharjah – Dhaid – Sharjah Road, Sharjah International Airport, Al Bataeh, Al Madam
- Ras Al Khaimah – Ras Al Khaimah International Airport
Temperatures will start to drop this month, especially at night, the National Weather Service (NCM) said in its September climate report released Thursday morning.
“The gradual weakening of the Indian monsoon depression means low desert heat over the Arabian Peninsula, accompanied by relatively fresh winds, resulting in dust and sometimes poor horizontal visibility,” the NCM report said.
“It is still possible that cumulonimbus clouds associated with rain and thunder will form in the eastern part of the county. These may extend into the interior areas, causing rainfall of varying intensities.”
