Abu Dhabi Airports has appointed Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Al Dhaheri has held leadership positions for over 27 years in several well-known companies in Abu Dhabi. For five years, Al Dhaheri served as CEO of General Holding Corporation (Senaat) before ending his tenure in 2020 to lead ADQ’s new food and agtech company, Silal, while serving as CEO. Al Dhaheri is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Cable (Ducab), Chairman of Silal and Vice Chairman of Emirates Steel Arkan.
A seasoned business leader, Al Dhaheri’s appointment will continue Shareef Hashim Al Hashmi’s successful journey at Abu Dhabi Airport.
Abu Dhabi Airports, the operator of five airports, recently released healthy passenger figures for the first half of 2022.
Between 1 January and 30 June 2022, Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain International Airport, Al Bateen Executive Airport, Del Mar Airport and Sir Baniyas Island Airport handled 6,299,725 passengers.
The next-generation midfield terminal will add passenger and air cargo capacity critical to the airport’s future growth and will be one of the main elements of Al Dhaheri’s mission.
