Meet the world’s first humanoid artist at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit

Participants and speakers included Ernesto Otone, Assistant Director-General of UNESCO’s Department of Culture; Ivo Josipovic, former President of Croatia, and Nura Alkabi, UAE Minister of Culture and Youth.

These sessions will cover a variety of topics affecting the regional and global industry.

The programme also includes ‘Creative Conversations’, moderated by veteran curator and broadcaster Tim Marlow, director of the London Design Museum, featuring interesting guests such as the world’s first humanoid artist ‘Robot AI’ up”.

In a panel discussion titled “Afghanistan in a Cultural Perspective”, speakers will highlight the importance of protecting the country’s vibrant cultural landscape and artistic expressions – factors that play an integral role in promoting stability in the country effect. UNESCO has been concerned about the deteriorating conditions of Afghan cultural professionals and artists, who have been targeted by violence for their work, forcing many of them to flee the country.

A conference titled “Hollywood and Diversity of Cultural Expression” highlighted past criticisms of the industry — such as the lack of representation of women and people of color in film compared to newer digital productions and platforms like Netflix, and media that influence the diversity of cultural expressions.

Creative Conversations will also host Dr. Jos Boys, co-founder of The DisOrdinary Architectue Project, which works with disabled artists to explore creative ways of access and inclusion. The presentation will focus on how disability and difference can be harnessed to generate creativity.

The event will include multiple film screenings and artist performances by renowned musicians, dance performances by choreographer Kader Attou and more. Artists speaking at the summit included Nigerian artist Emeka Ogboh, among others.
