The AFL has revealed its 2022 pre-match and half-time finale entertainment programme featuring an iconic Australian rock band and British pop star.

They were joined by G Flip, Mike Brady, The Temper Trap starring Budjerah and Ngaiire, and Katie Noonan in public performances.

All of them will perform at the MCG on Saturday, September 24, as the AFL decider returns home to football for the first time in three years.

“This year’s Telstra Pre-Match and Half-Time Entertainment will be one of the greatest Grand Finals music events of all time,” said Kylie Rogers, executive general manager of AFL Clients and Commercial.

“We know how great our Australian musical talent is, so we are delighted to welcome Goanna, Christine, Emma, ​​Tasman, Will and many homegrown stars to the MCG in celebrating the 2022 Toyota AFL Premier League season and awarding this year’s Premier.

“I would like to thank Telstra for their support of entertainment this year and look forward to seeing 100,000 fans return to this much-loved occasion at the MCG on the last Saturday of September.”

The 2022 AFL Finals kicks off at 2:30pm EST, which means the pre-match show will take place between 1pm and 2:15pm, while the halftime show will take place around 4pm.
