Mötley Crüe has “accepted” Mick Mars’ decision to quit the tour.
The 71-year-old rocker – whose real name is Robert Allen Deere – has been the band’s lead guitarist since its inception in 1981, but due to a long battle with degeneration, he announced his decision on Wednesday (Oct 26, 2022). There is no doubt that Mick needs an absolutely outstanding musician to succeed him, so we are grateful to our good friend John 5 Agree to come aboard and go with us. We’ll see all your Crüeheads on the way!”
John 5 said, “I am honored to carry on Mick’s legacy and look forward to playing these songs.”
The comments came hours after it was announced that Mick had decided to quit live on Tour Life.
