Tom Brady focuses on ‘family’ and ‘football’ after ‘very amicable’ divorce from Gisele Bundchen.
The NFL star has opened up about his differences with the models – he shares Benjamin, 12, with Vivienne, 9 – and insists he’s just doing “the best” he can.
Appearing on his own SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Go!” with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, he said: “I think there are a lot of professionals in life who go through the things they deal with at work. , they handle it at home.
“Obviously, the good news is that it was a very friendly situation and I was really focused on two things, taking care of my family and of course my children, and secondly, doing my best to win football games.
“So, that’s what the pros do. You focus on your work when you’re at work, and then when you get home, you focus on your home priorities.
“You can do the best thing you can do. As long as I’m working, as long as I’m a dad, I’ll keep doing it.”
The 45-year-old insisted that fans always see “the real me” when he takes to the field, and he wants people to remember that everyone has their own “unique challenges in life”.
He added: “For 23 years, I’ve dealt with a lot of challenging situations on and off the pitch, and a lot of them did happen in front of a lot of people.
“I think for a football player or athlete in general, it’s funny that you’re out there – I always say we’re not actors. Even if we’re on TV, that’s our true selves.
“We’re trying to be the best we can be… that’s how people have really gotten to know me on TV over the years. It’s a real self, out there competing against my teammates every day.
“You’re giving everything for the team, and everyone is going through something different. We all have our own unique challenges in life. We’re all human. We’ll do our best.”
