This year’s Egyptian Super Cup will be played in Abu Dhabi for the fifth time on 28 October 2022 at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in the United Arab Emirates, by Zamalek and Ahli.
Despite Al-Ahly’s victory, the real stars of the game were the Ghanaian Event Company, E-volution International, who organized the opening, half-time and closing ceremonies.
Described by many as unimaginably spectacular, the 25,000-plus spectators at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium were captivated by sheer brilliance, timely and cutting-edge performances.
The opening ceremony featured a flag in a curated cultural performance and ended with a captivating performance and laser show by Egyptian musician Ahmed Saad.
Another thrilling performance from Ahmed Saad at half-time, and after the final whistle, the stage crew prepared the sets for the memorable closing ceremony.
The lifting of the trophy was accompanied by a burst of golden glitter confetti and fireworks.
Fred Darko, CEO of E-volution International, said the success of the event showed the world that there are very capable organisations in Africa that can execute events that meet standards anywhere in the world.
He said: “This is a great opportunity for us to E-volution and we thank the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for trusting us to be able to handle an event of this magnitude.
“We knew our capabilities as an organization, so when we won the bid, we looked forward with anticipation and excitement. This should show the world that African companies are very capable of hosting world-class events.”
Fred Darko also credits the event’s success to the hard working staff and all the partners who contributed to the event in any way.
