Second annual Connecta entertainment tech show kicks off Sunday

Trade Fairs International – the leading organization in organizing international exhibitions and conferences – announces that it will host the second edition of the Connecta entertainment technology exhibition at the Egyptian International Exhibition Center in New Cairo from November 27th to 30th.

The event will take place within the framework of the 26th Cairo International Technology Fair (Cairo ICT), sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

In its second session, Connecta will be divided into four main segments, the first dedicated to esports, the second to cybersecurity challenges, the third to competitions and startups in Africa, the fourth Will increase awareness of metaverse applications.

At that time, Nokia, Huawei, Dell Gaming, Intel, B-Tech and many other companies will gather internationally renowned companies in the field of mobile phones, smart devices and video games. In addition to the Egyptian service provider companies Orange and Etisalat.

In addition, this year will also hold large-scale competitions of e-sports games such as FIFA 23, PUBG MOBILE, Valorant, League of Legends, Wild Rift, Free Fire, etc., with a total prize pool of more than 270,000 Egyptian pounds.

In order to understand how video games occupy the minds of a wide range of Egyptian children and adolescents, the exhibition will distribute special events for Egyptian university students by organizing special competitions, with the special support and sponsorship of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Education. School trips, giving them the opportunity to learn about the latest technology in the gaming industry.

International Trade Show CEO Osama Kamal expressed his delight at hosting the event for the second year in a row, especially after the success of the first edition in terms of attendance and interaction, noting that the purpose of the exhibition is to Realize Egypt’s Vision 2030, which implements a national digital transformation strategy to address the changing times of the current youth-dominated scene. Therefore, the management of the exhibition saw the need to arrange various events and activities that reinvented the personality, in line with the modern and future outlook.

In the upcoming conference, where the exhibition will focus on the hardware, smartphone and gaming industries, Kamal noted that visitors will have a unique experience that includes large exclusive promotions from exhibitors.

“The e-sports section of the show is due to the importance of the sport and its wide spread among young people, and it is also in line with the government’s efforts to encourage young people to participate in the sport. The industry as a whole is in decline, which is likely to Help support the Egyptian economy,” Kamal said.

Additionally, Virtual Quest’s CEO, Mohamed Amin, confirmed that registration for the competition had opened in mid-October and had received thousands of applications, adding that the preliminaries are the selections and the finals will be competed at the exhibition Finalists.

He emphasized that e-sports competitions have become popular among young people aged 12 to 36, and the game industry has become one of the largest industries affecting the world economy, emphasizing that Egypt should focus on breaking through to enter the industry in the next period of time.
