The Tennessee Williams Theater Company is warming up for the next season, with a selection under the banner of “Season 7: Deadly,” opening in March and running through September 2023.
Local theater groups will produce performances at Loyola University’s Lower Depths Theater and the Marini Opera House.
“Each play is about desperate people at the end of their proverbial rope, each faced with choices that have incredible consequences for them physically, mentally and spiritually,” said Nick Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director Augustin Correro said. Shackelford: “In these three explorations of the many facets of humanity and relationships, life and death are at stake.”
“The main actors in every play are controlled by their own major vices, and the wages of their vices – if they can be called vices – must be paid in one way or another,” said Correro, who will Directing Williams’ “Night of the Iguana” March at Loyola.
Other shows this season include Doug Spearman’s “Sweet Bird of Youth,” which will run at the Marini Opera House in summer; and “A Storm in Spring” , directed by Sal Maninno, who also serves as the artistic director of Loyola University’s Department of Theater and Dance, will be staged at Loyola in September.
The company is also introducing a new premium reserved seating option for performances, with guaranteed seating. Other tickets are general tickets.
