Salary, environment and job security in UAE ‘most important job drivers’

Salary and compensation (60%), work environment (50%) and long-term job security (46%) will be the top three drivers for UAE professionals in 2023, according to a survey.

The Mena Talent Attraction and Retention Survey by Bayt.com, the Middle East’s top job search site, and YouGov, a market research firm, outlines the areas that attract employees to a workplace and/or company, with a view to cementing company loyalty as the main drivers. . . Work.

The least important factors were reported to be company aesthetics, such as logo and website design (13%) and positive media presence (12%).

After being hired, the survey revealed that the most important drivers of loyalty among UAE professionals are long-term career opportunities (38%), training and development opportunities (38%), and job security (33%).

Workplace culture helps retain employees by increasing motivation and organizational commitment. On a positive note, 59% of respondents have been with their current organization for more than two years. In fact, nearly six in 10 working people in the UAE are satisfied with their current workplace and 65% would recommend their current workplace to anyone looking for a job.

Interestingly, nearly seven in 10 agree that their company regularly listens to employee feedback to learn about them, while 67% agree that leadership takes their feedback seriously. Additionally, nearly seven in 10 respondents said they would apply for their current role at their current organization if they had to start over.

Ola Haddad, Director of Human Resources at Bayt.com, said: “Besides salary, a large number of employees surveyed desire long-term career development opportunities as the main driver of their company loyalty. Go hand in hand with a desire for more genuine professional development.”

Most Attractive Commercial Value

In the UAE, 7 in 10 respondents find employers attractive if they follow good ethics and practices, followed by a friendly company culture (60%) and corporate social responsibility (52%).

Attracting talent is an important step that employers need to keep an eye on and actively work on. When asked to what extent a company excites candidates about its culture and entice them to apply, 48% of respondents said “a lot,” 17% said “somewhat,” and 12% said “very much.” less”, and 4% said “not at all”.

Social media (27%) and online company pages for job seekers (27%) were cited as the most effective mediums for communicating company culture to job candidates. When asked “what type of information would most motivate you to join a company as an employee,” 65% of respondents voted for emphasizing company perks and benefits, 44% cited employee testimonials and reviews, and 36% of people represent corporate events and social events.
