The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has issued a guideline to ensure workplace safety.
In guidelines posted on the ministry’s social media pages, it lays out seven requirements for a safe workplace.
The ministry said the hall should not be used as a temporary storage area for raw or manufactured goods, equipment or rubbish.
Companies must provide sufficient space around and between machines to allow workers to move freely and perform their duties.
According to the third requirement, necessary precautions must be taken to protect workers from falling, falling objects or any other harmful objects.
A fourth requirement is that companies must backfill swamps and standing water near workplaces or facilities.
All places, tools and any other implements used in the workplace must be fireproof and comply with code and technical requirements.
Facilities, entrances, exits and emergency exit locations must be marked and provided according to the number of employees, the ministry said.
Workplace floors should be level, free of holes or obstructions, and appropriate for the nature of the work to ensure safety, the guidelines advise.
