Here’s How You Can Get Your Flu Shot at Pharmacies in Abu Dhabi

Dubai: Do you feel like everyone around you is not feeling well or has a fever or stuffy nose? This could be an effect of flu season.

To be safe, all you need to do is visit your local Abu Dhabi pharmacy to get your seasonal flu shot.

On Monday, December 5th, the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) announced that it had approved a group of pharmacies in the UAE to administer the seasonal flu vaccine. Everyone over the age of 18 is eligible for the seasonal flu vaccine.

Here are all the details.

Pharmacy for flu vaccination in Abu Dhabi

These are the pharmacies approved by the Ministry of Health to offer flu vaccines:

2. Al Thiqa Al Almyiah – Zayed First Street
3. Al Thiqa Al Dowaliah – Al Muroor Street and Electra Street

2. New Al Ain Pharmacy – Al Muwaiji

Are vaccines free?

Some categories of flu vaccines are available for free. these are:

• pregnant women
• People over the age of 50
• Hajj and Umrah pilgrims
• Healthcare workers at high risk of infection
• Thiqa health insurance holders.

Other categories of vaccine costs

If you do not fall into any of the above categories, you will need to pay between Dh100 and Dh150 depending on what each pharmacy charges.

Do I need to make an appointment?

It depends on which pharmacy you wish to visit. It is advisable to contact them in advance to find out if they accept appointments or require you to make one.

Other Centers Where You Can Get Your Flu Vaccine

You can also get a flu shot at private clinics and hospitals in Abu Dhabi, as well as at public health screening centers run by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA).

If you would like to get your flu shot at a SEHA Health Center, you will need to make an appointment on the SEHA app for Apple and Android devices or call the SEHA Call Center – 80050

At SEHA centres, these categories of vaccines are free:

• Children under 18
• pregnant women
• healthcare workers
• People with comorbidities
• Citizens and residents over the age of 50
• Thiqa cardholders

If you do not fall into any category, you will need to pay Dh50 for the flu shot.
