Turkish Airlines said it would increase the frequency of flights to Istanbul from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Turkish Airlines currently has 3 flights per day from Dubai International (DXB) to Istanbul (IST) Airport, which will increase to 4 flights per day from October 2022, and 3 flights per week to Sabie operated by Anadolujet Flights from Hagokcen Airport (SAW). Flight TK765 will depart DXB at 4pm and flight TK764 will depart Istanbul at 8.15am.
From October 2022, the airline will increase its daily flights from Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Istanbul Airport to 10 flights per week. Flight TK867 will depart AUH every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 7:55 am. Flight TK866 will depart Istanbul every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 1:20 am.
As for Sharjah, the airline will restart flights to Sharjah, UAE on 3 October 2022 with 3 flights per week. Currently, Anadolujet flies four times a week from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Sharjah. Flight TK755 will depart Sharjah Airport for Istanbul Airport at 7.40 am on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while flight TK754 will depart Istanbul Airport for Sharjah at 1.15 am on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
With these frequency increases, its total number of weekly flights from the UAE will rise to 48.
The airline said the decision to strengthen its connection with the UAE was “in response to growing customer demand” and “to ease international travel protocols”. Turkish Airlines also recently celebrated its 40th anniversary of flying to the United Arab Emirates.
From its Istanbul hub, the airline connects passengers to 340 destinations worldwide, including 287 international routes and 53 domestic routes.
