Abu Dhabi Police foiled a drug operation involving a gang and 107kg of methamphetamine and cannabis in an operation dubbed “Secret Hideout”.
The police force monitored the gang’s activities and tracked their whereabouts. They arrested them on the spot as they buried the drugs.
Brigadier General Taher Gharib Al Dhaheri, director of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Criminal Security Department, said that Abu Dhabi Police has adopted a comprehensive strategy to hunt down and control drug dealers, no matter how hard they try different methods to promote drugs.
He highlighted the ability of the Abu Dhabi Police to use the best methods and modern means to tackle the drug problem, detect criminal schemes, and paralyze the actions of perpetrators, resulting in remarkable success.
He noted that the operation was successful despite the perpetrators being very careful and burying narcotics in several secret hideouts. The professionalism of the police team got in the way of their plans. “The Abu Dhabi police are looking for anyone who wants to undermine the security of the homeland,” he said.
He added that everyone should embody the concept of active citizenship and not hesitate to report any information related to drug problems, noting the importance of community awareness of the dangers of drugs.
