Institutions from UAE, India, US, UK, Germany, Canada and Malaysia to participate in two-day event

Abu Dhabi Model School is hosting a two-day career event and book fair on Friday and Saturday.
More than 25 local and international universities from the UAE, India, US, UK, Germany, Canada and Malaysia will be participating in the event at the school campus.
“This is our second career event after the first in 2019. Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to hold it for the past three years. But unlike our inaugural event, this time we have invited All schools at the event. Students and parents from across the UAE are welcome to attend and gain a better understanding of higher education opportunities,” said Dr Abdul Kader VV, the event’s director and chief patron, in a press release.
“The trend we are seeing is that more and more students prefer to study in the UAE rather than study abroad. We have world-class universities here,” Dr Khader emphasized.
The event’s vice-chancellor and chief executive patron, AM Shareef, noticed a shift in trends, with students increasingly choosing courses outside of engineering, medicine and healthcare.
“As technology advances, we have a strong interest in courses like IT, coding, biotechnology, etc.”
Institutions such as University of Reading, UK; University of Arizona; American University of Sharjah; University of Abu Dhabi; Students in grades 9-12 are expected to participate in the event and explore different areas in the future.
IJ Nazari, manager of student affairs and chief events coordinator, noted that students and parents can interact with university representatives.
“So far, 26 universities have confirmed their participation. We expect this number to rise to 30.”
Head of Boys Division and Chief Program Coordinator, Dr Abdul Rasheed KV noted that a visit to the book fair is a must for all students and parents.
“We will have a range of books for avid readers to explore. If they are interested, they can buy them. In addition, cultural programming will be held on these two days. A food court will be opened in the venue.”
Dibyendu Karfa, School Advisor and Lead Organizing Convenor, noted that the event at the Musaffah campus will be held from 4pm to 8pm and admission is free on both days.
