President Akufo-Addo departed Ghana on Saturday, January 14, 2023, to lead the Ghanaian delegation to the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) is a global initiative spearheaded by the UAE and its clean energy powerhouse Masdar to accelerate sustainable development and drive economic, social and environmental progress.
Founded in 2008, ADSW brings together Heads of State, policymakers, industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and youth – all with a stake in the future of our planet – to discuss and engage in bold climate action and innovation to ensure a more Future generations create a sustainable world.
President Akufo-Addo will then depart Abu Dhabi on Thursday, January 19, for a six-day private visit to London.
The President was accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Shirley Ayoko Bochwe MP; Minister of Energy Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh; Minister of Land and Natural Resources Samuel Abu Ginapo; Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation Dr Kwaku Afriyie , officials of the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Akufo-Addo will return to Ghana on Wednesday 25 January 2023 and in his absence, Vice-President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will act in his place in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
