Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the state-of-the-art headquarters of local delivery platform talabat today at City Walk in Dubai, the is a luxurious outdoor shopping and dining destination that is fast becoming a hub for technology companies.

The launch of the new headquarters reflects Dubai’s emergence as a hub of choice for global and regional tech companies, with nearly 2,000 employees representing 71 nationalities, making it one of the largest tech hubs in the Middle East. Talabat’s new tech headquarters marks a milestone for the platform, reflecting the company’s commitment to championing technology in the region.

Sheikh Mansour congratulated the company’s management and wished the employees success. He stressed that Dubai will continue to work towards the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, following the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin · The guidance of His Highness Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, to create ideal conditions to support business and strengthen partnerships with local and international private sector players.

Sheikh Mansoor added that Dubai will continue to fine-tune its economic model while investing in the infrastructure and resources needed to support business in the digital age. He stressed the importance of fostering creativity, innovation and professional skills to maintain Dubai’s status as a regional center of excellence for business and technology. He was accompanied by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of Dubai’s Ministry of Economy and Tourism, during his visit to the new headquarters.

A magnet for tech talent

The team at talabat’s technical headquarters includes more than 400 developers and engineers. From its base in Dubai, the platform will be developed by a team of dedicated developers and engineers to serve customers in nine markets: UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Dubai, a hub for technology companies, is attracted for its flexible registration process, fast-track permitting, batch visa issuance, banking facilitation and commercial and residential leasing incentives. Strong economic growth, pro-business policies, streamlined license and permit application processes, a supportive government that encourages business investment, and its strategic location make Dubai a magnet for tech companies and digital talent.

The city’s location at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa makes it an ideal gateway for companies looking to expand into new markets while providing a steady stream of talent from these markets to meet the company’s changing needs.

Talabat CEO Tomaso Rodriguez thanked Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed for visiting the new headquarters. He thanked Dubai for its continued support and encouragement to businesses, especially in the technology sector, and highlighted the company’s progress.

Rodriguez said: “The opening of our technology headquarters in Dubai is a testament to our continued commitment to championing technology in the region and attracting tech talent. Our dedicated team of developers and engineers is unique as it builds and maintains the head and core of our platform— — right in the heart of the city — not far away. The team hopes to grow further with over 100 product and technical roles, over half of which will be located in our new Dubai technology headquarters.”

The platform’s new technology headquarters also reaffirms Dubai’s attractiveness as a key global business and technology hub for Delivery Hero, the parent company of talabat. The move is in line with Dubai’s economic agenda, D33, which aims to make the city the fastest growing and most attractive global business center for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as regional and multinational corporations.

Spanning over 100,000 square feet across three floors, new talabat offices in City Walk provide an inspiring space where talented people can deliver solutions that create impact and spur growth for the ecosystems and communities the platform serves . The new office was also designed with sustainability in mind, as it features several eco-friendly elements such as low water consumption systems, LED lighting and windows that open up natural light, reducing the building’s environmental impact.
