Abu Dhabi: Organizers of Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi Cup say the city is in for the most exciting event as the teams begin final preparations for the competition.
Last held in 2019, the tournament returned after the pandemic with an expanded format and more entertainment and activities around the pitches in Zayed Sports City.
Simon Hewitt, Tournament Director at City Football Schools and Senior Manager of Football Operations in the Middle East and North Africa, said the Abu Dhabi Cup was all about promoting the game and letting the players enjoy it.

With 1,700 players from 13 countries participating in the 2023 Youth Football Championship, the world’s brightest young stars will travel to the UAE capital to compete for this year’s title.

Originally launched in 2017 to develop and inspire young footballers in the region, the Manchester City Abu Dhabi Cup will be in its fourth edition this year, following its previous run in 2019.
Held at Zayed Sports City on 18-19 February, the tournament will give young players the chance to take on some of the best from around the world, with the winning team getting a once-in-a-lifetime visit to City Football City’s Manchester Academy.
In addition to all the exciting action on the pitch, the public will also enjoy some exclusive live entertainment and events at Urban Village. These experiences include performances by Freestyler Ammar Freez, special appearances by Manchester City mascots Moonbeam and Moonchester, as well as other activities such as ball pitching, face painting and more.
