Airobotics announced a $3.5 million purchase order and joint venture with SkyGo, a UAE-based company with a commercial license to provide unmanned aerial delivery of goods and services in the city of Abu Dhabi shipment service. The message follows recent acquisition of aerial robot Controlled by Ondas.

The two companies will roll out the first “urban drone infrastructure” deployment across Abu Dhabi to deliver public services. The Airobotics Optimus System, a powerful autonomous drone platform, will be used for this project. Hopefully the system will become a benchmark for other parts of the world, especially big cities.

Airobotics founder and CEO Meir Kliner strongly believes that the combination of SkyGo’s market and application expertise and Airobotics’ powerful technology platform will result in a powerful partnership. Here’s Kleiner:

We are delighted to be working with SkyGo’s visionary leadership to deploy valuable drone services to Abu Dhabi City’s critical infrastructure, logistics and government customers.
