Abu Dhabi Defense Expo to attract more than 1,800 industry leaders

More than 1,800 global leaders and officials from regional and international defense and security companies will attend a major industry event, the International Defense Conference (IDC 2023), which begins tomorrow (19 February) in Abu Dhabi The opening will last for four days.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, IDC 2023 was held at the Adnoc Business Center the day before the IDEX and NAVDEX exhibitions.

Organized by Adnec Group in partnership with the Ministry of Defense and in strategic partnership with the Tawazun Council (Tawazun), the conference will see the companies highlight future technologies and discuss ways to develop security and defense strategies for world peace.

The theme of the conference is “Adapt, Explore, Transform: Reimagining Security, Society and the Human Experience in an Era of Disruption,” organizers said.

The conference will include four panel discussions covering the social and economic impacts and risks of widespread adoption of new technologies, talent development and human capital management, and the impact of emerging technologies on modern operations and future warfare.

More than 17 speakers will be in attendance, including defense sector leaders, ministers and senior officials from around the world.

The first panel, titled “Promises and Dangers,” will cover the social and economic impacts and risks of widespread adoption of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, neuro and biotechnology, and extended reality.

The second panel, titled “Adapting with the Times,” will shed light on how the increasing adoption of advanced technology in the workplace is changing the approach to talent development and human capital management.

The third symposium, titled “Frontier Technologies,” will discuss the impact of emerging technologies on modern operations and future warfare.

The fourth symposium, titled “The Next Frontier,” will explore the human instinct to explore beyond the existing dimensions of the terrestrial and physical worlds and expand the human footprint in space and the digital realm, organizers said.

This year’s edition will have more than 1,800 participants, an increase of more than 25 percent compared to the previous edition, they added.-TradeArabia News Service
