Egypt’s Minister of Military Production Mohamed Saleh al-Din will travel to Abu Dhabi on Sunday to participate in the 16th International Defense Exhibition IDEX 2023, which will last under the patronage of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Until February 24th.
The minister said the visit was made at the invitation of his Emirati counterpart and is part of the fruitful relationship between Egypt and the UAE in various fields.
During the event, the minister said he planned to discuss military cooperation and exchange of expertise with some of his counterparts and senior officials from participating countries, the spokesman said.
This is the fourth time Egypt has participated in the event, he said, adding that Egypt will showcase weapons, ammunition and other defense equipment products produced by the Ministry of Defense.
Many companies from all over the world specialized in defense and military industry participated in this grand event to showcase the latest technologies in the field of military industry and production.
EDEX 2023 is expected to be the largest show ever in the United Arab Emirates, with more countries and companies touting defense materiel in the newly expanded halls.
In its 16th edition, the biennial IDEX will see the participation of eight new countries – Uzbekistan, Ireland, Nigeria, Montenegro, Kuwait, Lithuania, Bangladesh and Monaco – bringing the total number of countries represented to 65.
Some 1,350 companies will exhibit their products, a 50% increase over the previous IDEX in 2021.
IDEX will launch IDEX Next_Gen, a dedicated space for startups to showcase their cutting-edge technologies in defense and navy to industry leaders.
